Anisha Deria
Anisha Deria is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Construction Management under the mentorship of Dr. Yong-Cheol Lee at Louisiana State University (LSU) in the United States, with plans to defend her thesis by October 2024. Her academic journey is driven by a profound interest in integrating advanced technologies into construction engineering and management. During her Ph.D., she has been actively involved in multidisciplinary research projects aimed at enhancing construction planning, scheduling, and decision-making processes. Her research focuses on leveraging digital twins, artificial intelligence, and automated systems to optimize resource utilization in construction, particularly in prefabrication and rapid post-disaster housing reconstruction contexts. To date, she has published three peer-reviewed papers in esteemed journals, with additional manuscripts under review and in progress. She has also presented her findings in eight peer-reviewed conference papers. Her career began in the building industry in India, where she obtained a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Jadavpur University and gained practical experience as an Intern Project Coordinator. Her role involved resolving multidisciplinary conflicts and integrating architectural, structural, and MEP considerations, which profoundly influenced her decision to pursue advanced studies in Construction Management at LSU. During her tenure at LSU, Anisha has served as a graduate assistant, refining her teaching skills as a teaching assistant for construction management courses and as an instructor for Building Information Modeling (BIM). She excels in teaching a range of core construction engineering and management topics, including BIM, Construction Informatics, Lean Construction, and related subjects. She has successfully designed and delivered online courses focused on BIM and other software applications, demonstrating her commitment to innovative and accessible education. Her vision is to create a dynamic learning environment that prepares future construction industry leaders with interdisciplinary knowledge and state-of-the-art technologies. Her research goals include advancing automated planning and analysis systems using deep-reinforcement learning and digital twins, as well as improving data collection methods through advanced sensing technologies. Ultimately, Anisha aims to contribute to the development of intelligent systems that enhance efficiency, safety, sustainability, and resilience in construction projects.
