TAMUS-LSAMP: Texas A&M University System Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation

Several current and former Texas A&M University (TAMUS) LSAMP participants were recently awarded prestigious national graduate fellowships. Four TAMUS LSAMP participants were offered fellowship awards through the 2021 NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) competition. GRFP awardees receive annual stipends of $34,000 to pursue research-based master’s and doctoral degrees in NSF-eligible STEM disciplines. Three of the GRFP awardees completed their undergraduate degrees at the Texas A&M University main campus in College Station, TX, and one awardee graduated from the branch campus, Texas A&M University at Galveston:

  • Aimee Arielle Cook McNab, Texas A&M University at Galveston

  • Manuel Romeo Flores, Texas A&M University

  • J Jesus Rodriguez Cruz, Texas A&M University

  • Jaye Anthonette Wilson, Texas A&M University

Another TAMUS LSAMP participant and Texas A&M University student, Daniel Peralta Velazquez, was recently named as a 2021 GEM Full Fellow through the National GEM Consortium. As a PhD GEM Full Fellow, Peralta Velazquez is eligible for up to five years of graduate fellowship support at a GEM University Member and an internship experience with a GEM Employer.
