Kennesha Smith
Kennesha Smith is a student pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Social Work from Louisiana State University. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in both Psychology and Sociology, in addition to a Master of Social Work from Georgia State University. As a social work practitioner, she has served in a variety of settings including: child welfare, aging, school social work, and mental health. Additionally, Kennesha has utilized her voice to increase awareness surrounding challenges that students and families experiencing homelessness may face by serving as a panelist for different presentations with community organizations and presenting at national conferences. She exudes a passion for creating access to supportive resources for underserved areas. Her research interests include students experiencing homelessness in secondary and post-secondary settings, child welfare, school social work practice, and community organizing.
